The Lotus looks is a crystal. On first sight it looks like a purple, flower shaped, glass thingy.

The Lotus is vibrating of chakra. The amount of chakra that is stored within couldn't be measured yet. Everyone who touches the Lotus will be caught in an S-Rank Genjutsu that throws you into a new dimension, the "Lotus Dimension".

The Lotus Dimension takes always the shape of your hometown.
The Lotus Dimension shape can be modified to your own wishes after you get used to this Genjutsu (after 10 times).

If two persons (max. 4) hold hands while they touch the Lotus they can enter the same Dimension and see each other during the whole Illusion.
The shape will be chosen from the most experienced person then.
The shape will be chosen randomly if all have the same experience.
Any physical contact between those people will be felt as real.

You can fight within the Illusion.
You will feel the "physical damage" given, but your real body doesn't get hurt at all.
If you get "killed" or "knocked out" the Genjutsu is canceled and you get a headache.

You can leave the Lotus Dimension at any time.
You can not stay in the Lotus Dimension for more than three days (30 Posts).
After you left the Dimension you can't do it again for at least three days (30 posts) because of the pressure on your brain.

If you use this Lotus Dimension too often (more than 100 times usage, not posts) you get a permanent mental weakness.
"Lotus addict" thus you must return to the Lotus at least once in five days (50 Posts), else you die.

The Lotus Flower is in a cave located in Hyouga.
The Lotus Flower can't be moved or stolen, if you try to take it away from it's place you'll just have the feeling like its way too heavy.

The cave is guarded by Hiro Lotus (http://www.theninja-forum.com/Vbulletin/showpost.php?p=734973&postcount=7). The Lotus family which original name is today unknown, served their whole live to protect the cave and the members.
But since the Lotus can very well protect himself their job turned out to protect newbies from the Lotus.
The Lotus family members can sense anything on quite the distance, so they wake up even if someone intends to sneak in while they sleep.
The Lotus family does not take orders from the Dao Clan or anyone. They just live here and do their job.

The cave is also the place were those of the "Religion of Lotus" meet each other and talk.

The cave is an "Elysium".
You are forbidden to harm people in any way.
If you try to harm someone the mind-controlling power of the Lotus blocks your attack and shocks your brain giving you a hardcore headache.

•;~ Lotus.History:.
The Lotus Flower was found over 100 years ago by civilians.
Since it looked pretty they tried to remove it and started to fight for it.
The Lotus somehow was "annoyed" by this and suddenly begun to harm the people who fought each other.

The civilians were scared by this and closed the cave with a big stone.
80 years later a shinobi family found the cave and opened it.
They learned to deal with the Lotus. Respecting it's unbelievable powers.
20 years later they founded a religion to show respect to the Lotus, since this thing seemed to kinda have it's own will.

Humanity does not know how such a powerful thing can exist.
Humanity does not understand how this thing thinks, if it really can think.
Humanity does just believe in the guarding power and feels save in the cave since this zone can't be attacked.
Humanity enjoys the possibilities given by the Lotus and is thankful.
Those who joined this religion are believing in the higher power of the Lotus.
Those who joined keep the cave clean and respect the law of peace.
Those who joined tell their friends and family about the Lotus so they can try it out as well.
Those who joined get a Lotus Pendant.

Since everyone if murderer or monk can join - their view on things is not limited.
They small talk, philosophize, eat and drink, sleep and train together.
But also loners appear from time to time, since its up on you to talk with the rest.

There is also no known hierarchical-system, it is common sense that a less experienced one listens to what a veteran has to say.

btw...when inside the genjutsu of the lotus, it takes as you said the shape of ones hometown...then what? you said that the "victim" feel the physical pain, but from where do they get it (like being cut by a sword inside the illusion)?

It's not weird.

If you spar someone in the Illusion and her slices your arm with his sword.
The Genjutsu activates the Pain Sensores and send that to your brain, thus you feel the pain. But on your real body there will be no demage.

Edit: oh and yeah you just walk around your hometown like you were in hyouga or sato or nagare.
It's like you were dreaming about a day you never really had in the end^^

I'm sorry, but a religion that has an item that causes S-Rank Genjutsu is a bit too powerful, for anyone's taste. Not even the most powerful Genjutsu users in the world atm can use an S-Rank genjutsu. The thought that you have an item that can push you into an S-rank genjutsu merely by touching it is a bit repugnant, if not offensive to the work that everyone else has put into their characters.

I realize that you can get out of it if you want to, but who exactly would know that, other than the Dao clan? I believe such an artifact is simply far, far, far too powerful and abusable, especially for an organization that only has weak people within it.

James I think you missed something.

The artifact can not be moved and no, there are no holes to slip through.
It's physically too heavy, it has it's own will and it's going to kill anyone who wants to replace it.

The artifact is located in the cave and can never leave this place.
The guard to the cave will always state the effects of this Lotus when someone enters the first time.

I'm actually working on this NPC-Guard.

well, I've seen clans that have religion but a religion of addicted followers seems rough. Do they act like crackheads scratching while waiting for there turn.

It not like they can leave after they get addicted to go get help they just die, rough. They can't kill haha, good luck surviving.

What's this "Lotus Dimension"? your in your home town, okay that's it. I understand it's a genjutsu but what else is it suppose to be heaven or something, what's the point. what are you fighting in this dimension?

They are not addicted to flowers

They get addicted to the feeling of being god-like because veterans can form the vision of the Dimension like they want. In other words veterans can create their own world withing this genjutsu. (for a while)

The Lotus dimension is therefore an illusionary world.
If you played Fallout 3 it's comparable to the world were you meet your father.

Or in Naruto it would be compareable to the Illusionary world were Itachi traps Kakashi and tortures him badly. Well it at least works in the same idea but this illusion can have houses, stones, sea's, trees usw. and everything will feel real.

There is no Genjutsu that is compareable in strength.

And there arent flowers, there is just one flower, a flower made of glass maybe stone or diamond like. It is more and item than a flower it's just shaped like a Lotus-Flower.

Since there is no genjutsu more powerful than this it is for those who joined the religion a god-like power.

The item itself can't be moved or used as a weapon.


EDIT: For note: Veterans are people who used the Illusionary world already 10 times.

Ummm rule wise etc is seems fine/ok/awesome/etc to me^^ Though I feel that a bit more description is needed on the actual religion. Your very brief on it. How does it work? As in what is their view on stuffles? How is the hirarcial system etc.

Also made some other changes:

-The Lotus as Item just can't be moved anymore to prevent steal/abuse.
-The Fighting is just blocked now, I deleted the kill if you try again, you just can't do it.
-Being addict is now stated as a permanent weakness
