ANBU Training Grounds [Closed]
OOC: Only other Hyougaan ANBU may use this thread to train
IC: Arashi walked into the ANBU Training Grounds and examined the artisan's handiwork. The place was huge, a large training ground enclosed on all sides protected by various enhancements. Indestructibility seals, arena formation and reformation seals and the greatest strength? This place was completely indetectable and inaccessible to everyone except a Hyougaan ANBU, requiring various more seals to achieve this. A simple Chuusei ring would be enough to grant access to an ANBU, but other safeguards were in effect.
It was necessary for Arashi to create this place. As Captain he was supposed to stay inside the village, and thus it would be difficult for him to go out and train in the wilderness as usual. But it did come with some nice benefits, such as the ability to create this place in secret, known only to ANBU and the Kage to actually exist. It would be a great place to train for anyone, or even if several ANBU wanted to train at once, for the area could divide itself and make itself bigger on the inside than on the outside. It was so cool.
Arashi breathed in deeply. Everything was in good order, and the environmental settings seal was working beyond Arashi's expectations. He could train here as he desired, without interruption. Satisfied, he left to let others use the arena for the moment, he just wanted to check it out.

Reactive Chakra Training Post #1
Captain Arashi walked back into his training room. He had such a long list of things he wanted to train and finally had the time to be able to do so. But first thing was first, he needed to figure out why his chakra was acting up. For some reason, it was going against his will, and this needed to be fixed.
Arashi coursed some chakra through himself and tried to feel how it reacted. It was a strange sensation. Almost as if his chakra was actually burning inside of him. But that couldn't be, the chakra was his and he was immune to such sensations unless caused by an outside stimulus. Why was it that his chakra was trying to hurt him? Was he undergoing a change to his body structure?
But how could such a thing be possible. Evolution only happened from generation to generation and he was pretty sure no one had done any genetics experiment on him. But this was Seichi, perhaps his ninja powers were simply evolving. Becoming something more... but what was it changing into exactly? Arashi would have to find out.

Reactive Chakra Training Post #2
For now Arashi needed some relief from his own chakra system. The sensation inside his body was almost unbearable. Arashi thought this is what his opponent's might feel when burning them, but that only made Arashi smile at the thought. His enemies usually deserved to feel this way and knowing the basics of the pain made him sure he was doing the right thing by tracking them down and eliminating them.
Arashi unleashed steam the only way he knew how, suddenly from several points of fighting contact Arashi was streamed out beams of flame. It was quite a feat to simultaneously use 10A ranks of chakra all at once and Arashi was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to do it in battle, but the large expenditure of chakra lessened the sensation in his body. The tank wasn't full and thus the chakra wasn't as able to press against his own system.
The technique he used seemed weird though. It was a technique he used often yet for some reason it did not look quite the same. It seemed to have a certain shine on it that indicated it was full of life. Sure his fire techniques were dazzling, but they weren't alive. Merely subject to his will. What exactly was going on with him?

Arashi's body still seemed to be on fire even after he let off some excess energy. So he fired off another couple Fire Arts, further lessening the density of chakra in his system and providing some relief. Each time he fired, the chakra seemed lively and determined to overcome, it seemed alive. Perhaps that would explain the inferno going on inside Arashi's body.
It's like his body was consumed by civil war, fighting against each other to the death. The raging, fiery nature of his chakra meant that he would burn from the inside out, even though he was supposedly protected from such things by his Hotoho ability. It was just inconceivable that his body was acting this way. He would have to turn to introspection to find out what was going on with his body.
The training facility was well equipped and had various areas full of all different kinds of terrain. He choose one that simulated being high up on a mountain clearing, and sat down into a meditative pose. He would have to turn his eyes inwards and quell this upraising of his. This body was his and he was it's lord and master. That it was tearing itself apart was an insufferable insult to him.

Arashi began turning his eye into his inner world, completely forgetting the outside. Though completely vulnerable to assassination at this point in time, it was worth it to note that he was an ANBU Captain, deep underground, protected by legions of loyal ANBU, and that there were always guards on duty and various security measures in place to make sure any potential invaders were always... always... spotted.
The scene on the inside of his body was disturbing. The hyougaan plains were on fire. No longer were they covered in snow, instead they were barren, flames raging everywhere. Even the mountains were bursting with flames, some of them had even turned into volcanos. No wonder he had been so agitated and in pain. His body was literally burning itself up from the inside out.
All around him combat raged. Fires streamed forth and combatted more flames, exploding and causing more destruction. Ninja weapons were thrown, sometimes clanging off another, sometimes exploding, sometimes being incinerated by the intense heat of the battlefield. Fallen soldiers strewn the ground, but there was no blood. No rivers of red could be formed when all blood was scorched and evaporated before it could lie on the ground. Instead, a slim layer of red fog permeated the air.

It was enough to make most men sick. But Arashi was a battle hardened ninja, though this exceeded the majority of his experiences, if not all of them. There was so much suffering, so much hatred. And his beloved countryside was in ruins. And for this, Arashi wept. Or at least, he would of if his tears did not instantly evaporate away from his face.
It's all in my head Arashi repeated to himself. This is not real, and I must not fear. I must conquer myself if I am to be able to prevent this from happening to the real world. Then, my homeland will be safe, because I will protect it.
Arashi's head hung low during all of this, but after he finished he raised his head and yelled out defiantly, enhancing his voice by pure force of will. This was his world after all.
"I command you all to stop!"

Arashi's commanding voice had all the ninja in his world stop fighting and look at him. Some of them in mid motion of attacking. They all seemed to wonder who this man was that managed to stop an entire battlefield of them from continuing to attack each other.
"Who are you to tell us what to do?" yelled out a voice. It was distinctive, and he made his way over to Arashi.
"I am the lord of this realm. And you are my servants. Of course you will do as you are told. Now, what is going on here?"
The man made a motion seemingly to try to attack, but Arashi's will held him in place alone, and soon, it all dawned on them who Arashi was. Just as they knew they were chakra inside a body, they knew Arashi was the mind of it. Each of them would start to kneel in respect.

"Up, I have no patience for you right now. I want to know why you are trying to destroy my realm from the inside out."
As they all did so, one other moved forward.
"Sire, we have been changed somehow. Something has happened to us and we have been unable to control it."
"Out with it, what has happened?"
"We do not know, all we know is that we cannot stand each other. We all understand we are from the same person, but we hate each other. It does not make sense."
"So you are chakra hating, chakra entities?"
"Aptly put sire."
Arashi withdrew to his thoughts for now. If that was true, then it was very likely his jutsu could use such a quality to overcome other jutsu. It would be incredibly convenient for him to be able to do this.

"Now listen you lot. You all live in the same vessel. My vessel. I will not tolerate self destruction without my explicit approval. There are plenty of others to destroy out in the world. You will concentrate on fighting them."
"Yes sire, but, if I may. It is partly your fault we are acting this way."
"Why is that?"
"You are the master, you may be accidentally creating this condition in us. Look around you, do you not think there is a deficit of something? You are using something up to do this."
Arashi thought, then suddenly smiled. It seemed this chakra representation was right. He had blindly stumbled onto this method of offense, and didn't realize it because his mind was so capable it did not at first notice he was doing this. Around him, the death eyes of the remaining ninja started to vanish, and the fires that raged on Hyouga evaporated. His body would return to normal soon.
In the real world, Arashi's eyes would open.

Hidden Flames Post #1
Now that the searing sensation inside his body was dealt with, Arashi could move on to another jutsu idea he had been forming. One of the requirements to being stealthy was being practically invisible, which is why he had bothered to learn Meisai Gakure. It literally made you invisible. However the technique did not extend to his attacks, which made it harder to be stealthy. He had hoped he could devise a way to do that.
Arashi sped through hand seals and used the aforementioned hiding technique, observing his arms. Or at least trying to. It was strange, Arashi couldn't actually see himself, but he could feel his arms being in the locations he was observing. A bizarre sensation, but one Arashi was now used to. He would then get in a stance and punch out, unleashing a torrent of flame from his fist.
It was bright and full of life, expelling light and heat from itself. It was unacceptable when you were trying to be stealthy. Both aspects would have to be taken away if he was to use it properly. But how to go about it? Light and heat were intrinsic parts of a flame. How does one prevent them from radiating it outwards? Perhaps the invisibility technique held an answer, which is why he bothered activating it.

Hidden Flames Post #2
Turning your flames invisible was pretty tough task. For Meisai Gakure, it turned your body invisible, but whether it was because of light being bent around your body or you simply became transparent was a bit above Arashi's level of scientific understanding. Still, he could think of this like a rational human being that was capable of unleashing untold levels of cataclysmic events with a couple different movements of his hands... Ok, rational human being was enough.
Arashi would settle in on what his flames actually were. They looked liquid, but they had no mass on them. This sparked an idea in his head, but that was for later use. He needed to do something now about his flames light and heat output. The easiest way to do that was to try to extend the application of Mesai into his attacks. That should be enough to cover his jutsu's tracks.
But how to do that? Guess he would just have to do it. Invisible flames here Arashi comes. Arashi attempted to extend his invisibility chakra towards his katon chakra and then expelled them outwards as he would with the original Fire Art technique. The result? Well... just the flames from the Fire Art. Well darn.

Hidden Flames Post #3
Despite the failure of the first try, Arashi would continue trying to turn his Fire Art attacks invisible. One try, two tries, three tries, four. With seemingly no improvement on the fifth try, Arashi decided to take a break to look at his method once more. What needed tweaking? What change would make his jutsu perform as desired?
This, Mesai Gakure no Jutsu... it turns someone invisible by flooding the body with chakra, and changing its properties so that light appears to go through it. As far as I can tell, no light is emitted from it either. But fire is pretty much massless, what possible method could I use to flood my techniques with transparency chakra?
It was a simple answer of course. It was his own technique which used chakra, therefore, he would just have to complement his chakra use with some more chakra that infused the existing chakra with that tendency. Perhaps if he had bothered to think about this before he wouldn't have wasted time and energy trying to do it earlier. But this was the purpose of trial and error, and thinking, and the jutsu creation method in general. Either way, Arashi would find a way to complete this jutsu.

Hidden Flames Post #4
Arashi flowed his chakra throughout his body. He needed to take off two separate sources for the technique. One for the technique to be used, and another to mix with the technique to make it invisible. He decided to go with the same amount of chakra for each part, thinking he would be able to change the mixture later. For now, this would probably be easier. With the chakra ready, Arashi could begin seeing if it would work.
Thrusting his fist out, Arashi released the thoroughly mixed chakra and observed the results. Would it be invisible? Unfortunately no, it was not to be so. The released fire was very much visible, though the light it emitted seemed to be lacking, and there was not as much heat radiating from the technique. So perhaps it had partly worked? What if Arashi simply made sure to get the chakra portions correct?
Using the same idea, Arashi started experimenting with how to mix the chakra. Each differing portion yielded various portions of the effects listed above, but never perfect remittance of light or heat, and never invisibility. It was seeming to be impossible, but Arashi's mind was already working on the effects he was already witnessing. Perhaps it was possible to get this effect instead? That alone would greatly benefit his techniques and his assassinating. Time to get working on it.

Perhaps I'm going about this all wrong Arashi thought. It seemed like the great jutsu gods just weren't willing to let Arashi have his invisible attacks, though he knew of some other attacks that were invisible. Oh well, there was one more thing he could try doing.
That was simply removing the light and heat emitting of his attacks and only having the heat affect someone when the fire makes contact with a solid object. Or perhaps a liquid object to. When it makes contact with something that wasn't air. There we go, just like that. By this method, Arashi can obtain something close to invisibility given the right conditions, and as most of his attacks were supposed to be stealthy and done at night, this would help him achieve that function.
But how was he to go about it? So far his various attempts at mixing invisibility chakra did not produce the effects that he now desired. Was there something else he needed to do? A bit of thinking and Arashi realized that in order to produce such results, he could not rely on invisibility chakra to do so. This was something different than invisibility and thus required him to manipulate his chakra in a different method.

Hidden Flames Post #6
Having learned of his need for manipulating chakra into a different form, he would need to figure first how exactly his chakra should be arranged in order to achieve the desired effect. This effect was the complete erasure of fire's heat and light emitting capabilities while still retaining everything in the actual flames themselves, so it would be hot to the touch. So then possibly the best thing to do would be to turn his chakra into a kind of shield like system, that prevented the escape of such energies. Of course it would still be reflective, but that would be tolerable.
Having decided what his chakra needed to do, Arashi went to work on actually inventing the type of chakra he would need. His chakra control was extraordinary, even for an Elite Jounin, and it allowed him unparalled ability to mold his chakra at will. With his large chakra pool, he could do this for hours without getting tired. Even then, he had formed the chakra into a good shape that he was ready to start trying to mix it with his jutsu.
He turned off all the lights in the particular area he was working in and started molding his chakra for his technique. Since it was a simple add on and the jutsu he was using didn't require handseals, he did not need to use any. A step forward to introduce power into his punch and a short string of flames would erupt from his hand, an equivalent amount of hiding chakra being introduced into his technique. Arashi would observe, or attempt to observe the technique as best as he could in this low light environment.

The results of the technique were not as good as Arashi hoped for, but then again it was still early to consider the technique to be done anytime soon. The shield he had wanted to place was too strong and emitted it's own light indicating its presence. He would have to tone the shield down if he wanted it to work properly. That was an easy thing to match. Of course, being the chakra control freak he was, he would have to try out all kinds of mixtures in order to obtain the perfect result.
This he would do of course, continually adding less and less portions of chakra to the technique before hitting the sweet spot where neither the shield nor the technique emitted anything of their own. He could even feel the absence of the heat he usually expected from his Katon techniques, though he had no doubts the flames would take full effect on something. Still he had to try it out.
Turning the lights back on, he headed out to the straw dummy fields and quickly fired off a couple of shots at the dummies, using the blend of chakra he had perfected earlier and the A ranked version of his technique this time. As expected, all the dummies instantly lit on fire and were incinerated. That was good, then suddenly, he wondered if he could apply this to his flight jutsu. Perhaps he could get a better result on that technique?

Hidden Flames Post #8
Wondering if he could make his flight flames invisible, Arashi quickly formed handseals and activated the jutsu, mixing in the hidden flames... ooo that was good name... chakra he had just perfected. To his pleasant surprise, the flames were completely invisible and inert to boot. Now he could use his flying technique without appearing as a shooting star in the middle of the night. That was completely not stealthy. Not at all, and plus his technique wouldn't create tell tale scorch marks of his landing.
He changed from the simple hovering to the flight aspect of the jutsu in order to make sure his technique continued working the same way before returning back to the ground to continue practicing the jutsu. He felt it wasn't completely perfect yet and simple repetition and minute changes would help him completely pinpoint what he needed to do to make the jutsu work flawlessly.
He would work long into the night before finally resting. He had some office work to do before turning in for the night... nah. It was late and he could do it tomorrow.
He walked out of the training arena, content with having learned his new jutsu, Hidden Flames.

Seal of Sustainability Post #1
Arashi returned the next day in order to continue training more jutsu. He was not tired as he had gotten enough sleep the previous nights and was used to expending and recovering large amounts of chakra. Today there was a new technique he had in mind, one that enabled him to use his jutsu more effectively. And it was a seal, so that was a plus.
Ok, so basically I want to make a seal that allows me to maintain any technique I so desire, even if it didn't have a maintenance cost to begin with. Actually, especially if it didn't have a maintenance cost to begin with. Why would I want to learn such a technique? Because my Kasaijutsu will be much more versatile if I have the capability to maintain their streams.
But how does one go about creating a seal anyway? And then how did you get the seal to do what you wanted? This was Arashi's first time creating a seal and he had to admit he was at a bit of a loss as to what to do. But everything that ever started required to take a first step, even if you had to backtrack and start all over again. So this is what Arashi decided to do.

Seal of Sustainability Post #2
Having decided the goal of his seal, Arashi figured he might as well design the seal first before looking at it's mechanics. Perhaps he could use something related to eternity, or infinity. The 8 on its side as the symbol for infinity jumped into his mind quickly after that thought, but he dismissed it just as quickly. It was too common place to be placed on a man such as himself.
So what then? A serpent that was biting it's tail was another symbol of infinity, but he was not affiliated with snakes or dragons for that matter. Arashi sat cross legged for quite some time considering various seal ideas. They increased in complexity and design until Arashi had a sudden thought.
I'm not an artist!
Given this, Arashi simplified his design a great deal. Taking the first few ideas he thought of, he simply decided to draw out the kanji for Eternity out in front of him in the dirt. Finding that to be a little bare, the circle popped into his head and he outlined the kanji with a circle.
Eitai in a circle... A circle knows no bounds and will continue for eternity... yeah... it'll work.

Seal of Sustainability Post #3
Having decided what he was going to use as the seal, Arashi went and found some ink in order to draw it on his skin somewhere. He realized that wouldn't exactly tattoo it onto himself, but at least he would have something to focus on. He came back into the area with a black ink pen and sat down, removing his upper body attire except for his mask and changing his appearance with Henge anyway. Nobody besides the Kage knew that Arashi was the ANBU Captain and he preferred it to stay that way.
Now... where is the best place to put a seal like this? Arashi wondered. He had his entire upper body as a canvas but it was very unlikely that he would use the entire thing. After all, he needed space for any other seals he might come up with or receive later.
Perhaps I'll just pick several spots and only keep the one that I think is placed best. Yeah, that'll do.
So Arashi went to work placing seals on various parts of his body. One on his stomach, one on either side, on both pecs of his chest, on his upper spine, both sides and both parts of his arms and even on the backs of his hands. Looking at him now would make you think he had a variety of tattoos on his body, though closer inspection would reveal it was merely the same drawing over and over.
