Default Round 2, Fight 1: Psycho Green v The Black Fox

    OOC:
    Spoiler!

    IC:

A loud roar from the audience would be heard the moment the participants set foot on the sandy arena. Finally, the second round of WT had started after a long long wait. The arena, besides having a sandy floor, was littered with random sizes of boulders, some large enough for cover while others large enough to be used for some techniques. Granted that it had been quite a while before this was started, the watchers were expecting a great fight from the contestants.

Upon entering the arena, they would feel a slight tingling sensation as the enchanted ring registered the two and activated its appropriate defenses to not only keep the viewers safe, but the contenders as well. Around the edge of the field stood several stands, displaying hundreds of eager watchers from all over.

When both fighters entered the ring, the judge would stretch slightly before gesturing as he spoke in an enhanced voice. "Welcome to the Second round, First match of the Middle Weight Division! To the left, we have Psycho Green" The crowd would cheer, then afterwards the judge would continue. "To the right, we have The Black Fox!" The crowed cheered again. The judge would wait for the cheers and thunderous applause to die down before addressing the two fighters.

    "Are you ready?"

The young fox boy once more took the feild, his face once again covered by his masked hood, through which he surveyed the feild. "This one again? Don't they have any other stages? Oh well." Unlike last time Boo rode in on his shoulder rather then hidden away while Boot remained outside the arena again.

With a sigh Kurou placed the two items he'd been carrying at his feet, his new battle scroll and Demon Hide. "Well, I'm ready I guess."

    "He is the white void.
    He is the cold steel.
    He is the just sword.
With blade in hand shall he reap the sins of this world
And cleanse it in the fires of destruction."

Through use of Shout it Out, I had this boom over the whole place as I walked out with the green helmet covering my face so nobody would know it was me talking. Originally, I wanted to be showy, but surveying the field gave me a much better and more plausible idea instead. I walked up to one of the giant boulders in the path and placed myself opposite my opponent, hiding me from his sight, and he from mine. Besides, the show the audience was here for is the combat, not my natural showmanship.

OOC: I'll be judging the chuunin bracket.

IC: "I'll take that as a yes," answered the judge after Green had spoken.

"Let the match, begin!" And with that, any restrictions the fighters were under in order to conform to the rules were now lifted. It was a fight to the death, with no fear of death. How interesting.

I wasted no time in pulling out the crossbow from my back and attaching a clip of armor piercing bolts to it. Then, to actually find my foe, I activated Heat Vision so that I could see his heat source through the giant rock I was currently hiding behind.

    "Your end will be swift"

A quiet thwip would be the only indication of my bolt heading straight through the boulder as I attempted to circumcise Kurou with a called shot. There would be no escape from something that was neigh impossible to see coming without altered vision with my accuracy.

((OOC: I could not find an item page for the armor peircing bolts so this post is made with the concept that they simply bolts with hardened extra pointed heads.))

As his opponent was setting up Kurou had his own preparations to perform as he fliped through the seals of
Zairyou Sousa no Jutsu and using it on his scroll and Demon Hide, causing them to raise up and start shaping themselves. Which was all probably fairly lucky for him, or was it?

His opponent ws trying to shoot a bolt through solid rock. Now it would be impressive if the bolt could move through 6 inches of solid rock and fly 10 feet afterword much. I't probably take a miricle that it was able to fly posibly 50 meters after going through the likely 2-3 feet of stone the boulders were. As the matter was, the bolt would likely loose most if not all it's speed in the stone so it would be far from imposible to see.

Back to Kurou though, he wouldn't so much see the bolt as hear it when it was fired and when it hit and exited the stone. He had been busy shapeing his cloth into a sword and sheild but was far from complete, Demon Hide was just a large folded mass in front of him and the scoll, was well.. a rounded folded mass. So at the sound of the attack his responce was simply to harden the scroll as best he could and allow demon hide to remain loose and plyable, this way as the bolt would first hit the demon hide the cloth would bind the bolt due to it's rotating and slow it to a halt while the scroll would stop any last remaining bit of force it could have had.

"Hey! Watch where you're aiming! You could hurt someone with that thing! Seriously that wasn't very nice!"

As he was shouting back Kurou rapidly altered the shape of demon hide into a folded form of a snake, namely a cobra with it's hood out. This he steped on and used kibori to stay attached to as it sped forward in a zig zag pattern a rate faster then Kurou himself could normaly run. Now given that it was a snake Kurou was riding it was fallowing a serpantine patern along it's zig zag so he effectivly was performing a double zig zag on top of it, which would make it even harder to predict his movement.

In the same time that began his advance Kurou had part of the scroll wrap about his shoulder while the rest formed a long pole with a cupped end, the end that extended out from where it wraped about him held the attached steel cylindar out in front of him. The long arm itselt drew back and unsealed one of kurou's multiuse marbles in the cup at the end before swinging back and launching it out at the boulder Kurou now believed his opponent to be hiding behind. This marble was equivalent to an exploding tag and would blow on impact. Kurou hoped to topple the boulder over on his opponent.

Now since Psyco Green's heat vision apparently saw through things that did not produce heat, this would likely look very odd if he was still using that item. Afterall kurou's weapons would be transparent with no heat of thier own so the boy would seem to bee coming at him with out moving. He was simply holding a single hand seal.

OOC: Pretty heavy stuff, actually. It'll pierce through most non-ridiculous non-chakra enhanced things without losing too much speed. Also, since this is a desert field, I was thinking that the boulders couldn't be anything too dense. They are like sandstone, yeah? The weakest stone on Earth. I do, however, think I shall ask Blaze to post his opinion on the density of the stones.

IC: Of course he blocked the first bolt. It wasn't even part of the plan to have that do damage. I deactivated heat vision once it was no longer necessary since I had a hole to see through. The point was to get Kurou to not move for a moment, and it succeeded in doing just that. I emptied the rest of the clip shooting straight through the hole I had just made with the previous bolt. The consecutive strikes should pierce through, at least a bit to hit him.

With that clip empty, I discarded it and replaced it with one of mercury ignition bolts. At this point, I moved out from behind the bolder to get a better view of my foe. By now it seemed that he was moving towards me in a zig-zig-zaggy fashion. Even for me, this would be hard to predict. Thankfully, I didn't have to predict anything. That was the beauty of the Thousand Bolts crossbow. If one had chakra, one didn't need to aim. I fired four bolts in his path. I couldn't hope to strike precisely, but I could hope to corral him into moving off to the right and forward a bit. Besides, explosions didn't need to hit. They just needed to occur near the target.

Once Kurou had reached sufficient closeness, I unleased the true fury of the bow. One thousand mercury ignition bolts over a rather large radius. Unfortunately for me, they were spread out far enough that his exploding marble made it through the 'wall' and impacted the bolder that I was now next to. It blew the thing into tiny pieces which caused me to reflexively raise an arm in defense, even though my armor would protect me.

Without waiting for the results, I sped forward, replacing the empty clip with one of normal bolts. With any luck I could get right to him and point the crossbow at his head. Heat Vision would be used if necessary. After all, in this desert things with low-heat were as easy to see as body heat. Should he make any movements after the explosion, I would aim right for the guy's head with my usual unerring accuracy.

OOC: These stones are like those you would find on a rock bed. Your regular run of the mill, Seichi rock. Remember that the boulders are big pieces of stone and are thus thick. The smaller stones are about person sized as stated in the arena description. Hope that clears things up for you guys.

((OOC: Sorry this took so long, I was gonna post before work but got delayed by random evil that is life. @.@))

As the first bolts started flying Kurou had his cloth snake swirve quickly to the side, but moved it's head in front of his twisting about so as bolts entered it, they were pushed slightly off thier aimed trajectory and slowed by the cloth binding on them. With th scroll he used the end with the steel cylinder to deflect some of the bolts that had lost thier speed. Even then it was true he did get hit, two glancing strikes along his left side and shoulder with the bolts leaving cuts in their wake. The wounds weren't major but they hurt none the less.

It was the explossions that Kurou wasn't totaly ready for though. This time he actualy threw himself to the side with the first explosion and rapidly altered the formation of his cloths again Forming a multi-layered shell. Demon Hide formed the first two layers of a dome with some hardening to take some of the force from the shockwaves but not too hard that it still had some give and could return back to it's shape. It's fire resistance was also a boon as it would take off the other edge of the explosions. The battle scroll formed a final hardened layer to brace against some more of the force. Though Kurou woul receive some damage it was mostly from the first explosion and his impact with the ground that it came from. There would definatly be some bruising later on. "Ow... ok so that happened."

Here the boy made a change of tactics sending his cloth forward in a wave as if making a tunnel to advance, though at the same time he'd leave the back open as he used Kawarimi with one of the human sized rocks behind his opponent while Demon Hide acted as a distraction. He was just coming out from behind the boulder it also placed him behind when he saw several explosions go off. This gave him pause as he had a definate WTF mental responce but this he shook off and and advanced as quickly as he could, though not entriely stealthy in his counter, sneak attack. No, in the process of inserting one hand into the cylender of his battle scroll, which he then formed into a giant hand, and drawing out one of his fans; Kurou gave a single shout. "BOO!"

Had anything of Demon Hide survived he would release the material manipulation on it at this point, for he had more important uses for the chakra and consentration. As he and his opponent closed on each other he'd shoot out the battle scroll to it's full length to try and grab the boy's arm and crossbow and attempt to keep him from fireing, the cloth hardening as it extended, just in case he managed to pull off another shot. As help he had Boo make his move, for the boy's cry had not been meant as a means to startle but an order for his furry freind, who leapt onto the boy's extended arm and raised his own while trying to catch his opponenents eyes for his genjustsu, Tsuiraku no Jutsu The fan Kurou would charge with chakra preparing for the lesser of his two wind jutsu.

Oh how I wished I had kept my doujutsu active. All these explosions were kicking a severe amount of sand up into the air, reducing visibility in the area where Kurou is, or rather was. I ran into the cloud of sand, a maneuver that had both significant advantages and disadvantages. First, I would find that he was no longer there, and activated Heat Vision to find my foe behind where I was just standing. His shout of "Boo!" was quite unexpected, and I wasn't sure what to make of it. However, instead of wasting time on decrypting that statement, I went to work on the next phase of my plan.

Within this cloud, I was hopefully invisible for the moment. I used this tiny window of opportunity to Transform into one of the rocks that was scattered about. With crossbow in hand, I kept my aim perfectly on Kurou from behind my disguise. Once I was sure he was at a distance that would be impossible to miss, I let loose with another volley of five bolts, all aimed at his head or other exposed skin.

    Spoiler!

This post assumes that Kurou doesn't have a means to see through the sand cloud.

Not seeing his opponent when he came around Kurou imidiatly switched to plan B. Between imprints left in the sandy terrain, kurou's hearing, and quite frankly the tactical thinking/blind hope his opponent had been fooled into his decoy and had tried to foolish him off, kurou was fairly sure the other chunnin had headed that direction and set his target as the area around where he had just been before he used kawarimi.

Even before the cloud had time to settle he unleashed the jutsu he had been preparing, Fuuton: Daikamaitachi no Jutsu. The jutsu would send out its cutting blast of whirling wind, picking up the debree in the air (and the bolts if they were already shot) and gain some grit to add to its cutting power, a rather nasty thing for psyco green if he'd stayed too close to the stone Kurou had left in his place. Even before Kurou had hand finished his swing for his justu he unsealed 10 marbles into the giant palm formed by his scroll and hurled them with a scattering throw. Had his opponent not taken the shot earlier he'd find it last now as Kurou's arm with the cylinder would give cover to most of his face after the swing and the arm made up of the scroll would unform into a large mass in front of most of the rest of him

Moving as quick as he could manage he'd dive back behind cover the moment his attack was off, and cover his and boo's ears with his scroll as all around his previous position would land 2 White Marbles (smoke bombs), 2 Yellow Marbles (flash bombs), 2 Green Marbles (stink bombs), 2 Blue Marbles (Boom bombs), and 2 Silver Marbles (Exploding tags)
Still Kurou was not without a fallow up as he removed the metal cylinder from his arm and started a set of hand seals for his next jutsu.

    OOC:
*Quick decision of where opponent had most likely disapeared too.
*[Wind Release: Great Cutting Whirlwind Technique] at previous location before cloud settles
*Unseal and throw 10 multi-use marbles at general area around own previous location
***Same motion gaurds face while scroll stands ready to protect him.
*dive behind cover and gaurd ears for boom.
    *start seals for next jutsu

    Jutsu:
Fuuton: Daikamaitachi no Jutsu [Wind Release: Great Cutting Whirlwind Technique]
    Rank: C
    Requirements: Fuuton affinity weapon.
Description: A Jutsu that, using a Fuuton affinity weapon such as giant fan, creates huge gusts of wind mixed with chakra capable of cutting the target apart. This whirlwind is powerful enough to repel and destroy multiple types of throwing weapons and can even reflect sound waves right back at their original source. This jutsu does not require the use of handseals, but does require an exaggerated swing of the fuuton-tuned weapon.

((OOC: Permission to end the battle was given over skype. Blazestorm is my witness.

    IC:
    "Boo, ring!"
The small hamster jumped down kurou's chest grabing the pull ring in his teeth as he did so, opened the bells on his belt. KUrou in turn released his material manipulation. His seals nearing thier end the boy lept back out of cover to find his attack had been a bit off target. His opponent had received very little in way of injory, though the driven sand had undone his henge. What Kurou had done however, was clear away the last of the large boulders that had been on that side of the arena. One of the few large rocks that was left was the one beside Psyco Green.

So it was that just as Kurou finished his seals his tail flicked up to ring one of his bells and he swaped himself with the stone using Kawarimi. The moment he appeared his hands thrust forward unleashing one of Kurou's most powerful attacks. "Fuuton: Daitoppa!" Being released from but a few yards away from it's target the attack would hit in a spit second, giving Psyco Green vertualy no time to respond. He could have tried kinobori as Kurou's last opponent had, but the fact was he stood on loose sand, which had been further loosened by the various explosions, it would be ripped up easily by the powerful wind attack. This would leave him with little defence to being launched out of the arena for a ring out.

The point blank Daitoppa would drill into Green, slashing him up severely and breaking several bones. Without the seals, there was a severe chance of death. However, the arena simply glowed with a bright white light before being completely reset, both fighters standing with a clean bill of health on either side.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Our winner, The Black Fox!"

Cheers would flood the audience, and before The Black Fox could leave to prepare for his next fight, he would find himself transported to another arena.

The judge smiled an evil smile.

OOC: I'll update this again when the championship round is put up, if only to make it obvious for others.
