I'd imagine you'd at least need to be educated on software testing methodologies (tmap is a rather old one), depending on where you are in the hierarchy. I suppose there's a split to be made there between the testers that test gameplay, and the testers that search for software faults.

One focuses on the 'how fun is it to play' whereas the others focus on making crap work.
But logically one would expect them to use a test panel of their target audience (be it in the comfort of their own homes or hired to play under surveillance and with screen monitoring and the likes) rather than in-house employees.

    MultiverseIndexOutOfBounds
What you want is so far fetched, even the multiverse can't make it happen

Exactly only problem is from my current knowledge there are no degrees for just being a game tester but knowing the software is a big plus.

There's a lot of jobs that have no specific degree tailored for it. Game tester is one. My current job is another - Systems programmer (more of a sysadmin for the mainframe - I don't do much programming). However, just having a degree in a related area is usually enough for those types of jobs.

As for tester, the proper term you are looking for is QA. (Quality Assurance) They do much more than just make sure it works. They run a battery of tests against it, testing for code regression, testing everything they can think to test. They submit tickets for the bugs, and have to make sure that they knew exactly how they got the bug.

I'm sure there are testers that test for funness factor, but i don't think you're going to get far there. That is, unless you become more of a reviewer. Get popular enough, and people will send you betas, demos, and even full games. That's not really a tester, though.

Though, i believe we have strayed from the original point? Maybe give Archangel a chance to respond xD

@ Safe: I knew someone who was a game tester once, he says it was brutal XD

@ Kyu-chan and Aet: There's no way to find out if I have the talent till I try, but maybe I'll still look at the technical aspect of it. Hmm...wait what was suggested to me? Was that computer science, because that's what I may decide to do.

@ Yuki and Ino: I guess you're right, but I may stick with CS. But when I get to school I'll just check some more majors and look for what I may have an interest in ^_^

@ Ice and whoever else mentioned games: So from what Ice just said if I learn how to make games I can use those skills somewhere else? Like what? I feel really weird right now cause I didn't know reviewers got paid, I thought it was just to pass away the time o-o;; [Don't laugh at me >.<]

@Akayuuki: NUUUUHH!! DX [No offense] I don't think I'll do law.

@ Everyone: Thanks for helping me out with this. So far I guess i've leaned towards CS the most but I'll still be checking out the other majors. If there are any more suggestions, I'd still like to hear them please. Thanks ^_^
    Spoiler!
