Public Forum

Hi everyone,

I would like to clarify something.

For a while now we have let slide the persistent harassment of staff in public chats. I am not talking about simply disagreeing with a decision. I am talking about the snide remarks, the personal attacks, the name calling and numerous other ways staff are addressed. We wanted people to be able to have open discussions about the game and the community without fear of being reprimanded.

However, it has gone on too long and gone too far. I will take some responsibility with allowing this to persist for so long, but it needs to stop. This not only does it make it difficult for staff to have civil conversations and engage with the community, but it creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for players, and promotes a toxic environment which is something I'm sure none of us want.

People don't have to like every staff member, or agree with every decision. However these are the people who are working to try to bring you the best version of the game that they can, whether you see them or not. People who do want this game to succeed, which is why they are still here.

So, I would like to make it clear, the harassment and vitriol that I have seen needs to stop. If staff are seen being harassed, especially after being asked to stop, there will be consequences. If you have any issues please take them to the proper channels, such as help tickets. We don't mind discussing some things in public chats, but if you are asked to drop a topic please listen to the staff and drop it and move on.

I would also like to remind everyone that in addition to staff, harassment in general is against the rules. Harassment towards anyone, staff or players, will still have consequences. If a mod is not visible or appears not to have noticed a comment in question, please reportit so it can be documented and addressed appropriately.

This will be the expectation moving forward.
