Cleanse removes harmful effects from the target (usually yourself). It does not restore health on its own and it does not remove shields or buffs — that is clear.
When to cleanse
- A poison or wound will out-damage your next hit.
- A stun or seal would skip the jutsu you need this round.
- A stat drop has collapsed your damage below a kill threshold.
Cleanseprevent stops this. If the enemy stacked prevent, attacking through the debuff can be better than wasting the action. Live jutsu that cleanse are listed under jutsu data.
